One of the best parts about coaching is all of the great people that I get to meet along the way! Sometimes the people I meet are potential clients, sometimes they are people I have the chance to interact with during the day due to the flexibility owning my business affords me. In both cases, I learn a little about myself with every interaction.

Growth Mindset
The reason for this is a growth mindset. I try to walk away from every experience, good or bad, and reflect on what I have learned. Since adopting this mindset, the possibilities have been endless. I am open to feedback, receptive to others' ideas, even the possibility that someone else might be right or have a better idea than I do!
Getting Started
First, when you are in a particularly challenging situation ask yourself, what have I GAINED from this experience?
It's not easy to see the positive side of every situation, but when you take the time to reflect on it there is always something you can take away.
For example, I have worked with some pretty miserable co-workers who no one really wanted to be around because of their constant complaining and unwillingness to help others. What did I gain? I gained a new perspective that helped me realize I did not want to end up in their shoes. I did not want to end up miserable and unable to enjoy my life and the people around me.
Next, take what you've learned from the experience and put it into practice. Gaining insight from a challenge is important, but applying that insight is what ensures continued growth.
For example, when I realized I didn’t want to become the bitter, cynical coworker, I made a commitment to work harder at helping others grow and fostering a welcoming environment.
Lastly, share your experiences with others. By sharing what has worked for you, you create a positive outcome from a difficult situation, passing on the lessons learned to benefit others.
The Rewards
Personal Growth A growth mindset fuels your personal development, both professionally and in life.
Empowering Others There's immense fulfillment in helping others grow through your shared experiences and insights. A growth mindset not only impacts your journey but also inspires and influences the people around you, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Constant Learning Opportunities When you adopt a growth mindset, you begin to see learning opportunities everywhere. This shift in perspective allows you to gain insights from everyday experiences.
Increased Resilience A growth mindset helps you view setbacks as opportunities to learn rather than as failures. This attitude enhances your ability to bounce back from challenges, making you more persistent in achieving your goals.
Enhanced Creativity and Innovation As you focus on growth and learning, you're more open to new ideas and approaches. This fosters creativity and innovation, enabling you to think outside the box.
Improved Relationships A growth mindset encourages active listening and understanding. You become more empathetic and supportive, which strengthens both personal and professional relationships.
The rewards of a growth mindset extend far beyond individual success—they create a ripple effect that benefits teams, organizations, and communities.
